Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy determines how personal data is processed and protected in connection with the use of the mistosite.org.ua website (hereinafter referred to as the “Website”). The NGO “Centre for Society Research” (Cedos), which manages the Mistosite project, is responsible for administering personal data collected through the Website. By using the Website, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy.

    Data we collect

    1. 1.1

      Data you provide voluntarily: Your email address when you subscribe to the newsletter; and your name, email address, and content of your message when you submit a content proposal via the form on the Website.

      Data collected automatically: Your IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, and the time and duration of your visit. This data is anonymized and does not allow for the identification of a specific individual.

    Purposes of processing

     We process personal data for the following purposes:

      To send the Mistosite newsletter, with consent you provide when subscribing.

    2. 2.2

      To review submitted materials and communicate with authors.

    3. 2.3

      To analyse Website traffic to improve the Website’s performance and content.

    Legal basis for processing

    Personal data is processed in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Personal Data” and, where applicable to users in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The legal basis for processing personal data is your consent. For Website analytics, Cedos relies on its legitimate interests in maintaining and improving the Website, where applicable.

    Disclosure of data to third parties

      We use MailerLite (MailerLite Limited, Ireland) to distribute our newsletter and Google Analytics to analyse Website traffic. These services process data on our behalf in accordance with their respective privacy policies and applicable data protection requirements.

      We do not sell, transfer, or disclose your personal data to any third parties, except as required by Ukrainian law.

    Data retention periods

    Email addresses used for newsletters subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Data submitted through the content proposal form is retained for 12 months from the date of submission. Anonymized Website analytics data is retained for 38 months.

    Your rights

    You have the right to request information about personal data we process about you, request that inaccurate data be corrected or that data be deleted where applicable, withdraw your consent to processing, and unsubscribe from our newsletter. You can unsubscribe by clicking the link in any newsletter email. For other requests concerning your personal data, please contact us at mistosite@cedos.org.ua. We will respond within 30 days.

    Cookies

    The Website uses technically necessary cookies to ensure its proper functioning and analytics cookies to collect anonymised statistics about Website usage. You can restrict or disable cookies through your browser settings. This will not affect your access to the Website’s content.

    We implement organisational and technical measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Access to the data is restricted to Cedos team members who require such access to perform their duties.
